Hockey Night in Brampton adds Star NHL Alumni and More Local Talent

IAFRATE. CORSON. HAWERCHUK. TERRY. MORE AMAZING HOCKEY TALENT IS COMING TOGETHER TO TAKE PART IN THE FIRST EVER HOCKEY NIGHT IN BRAMPTON on AUGUST 22.

BRAMPTON, ON - Current NHLers already announced for this special night include Sean Monahan, Brett Ritchie, Nick Ritchie and Scott Wedgewood. Now, Mayor Patrick Brown is pleased to highlight some star-studded additions:

Former Toronto Maple Leaf, Al Iafrate is a four-time NHL All-Star. In the 1992-93 playoffs, Iafrate scored the most goals by a defenceman in a season (6). He retired from professional hockey in 1998.

Another former Toronto Maple Leaf, Shayne Corson was a three-time NHL All-Star. Corson spent 11 years with the Montreal Canadiens, and also played for the Edmonton Oilers and St. Louis Blues.

Joining the Hockey Night in Brampton roster will be 2001 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Dale Hawerchuk.

NHL Alumni, Dale Hawerchuk earned the distinction of being the first overall pick in 1981 NHL Entry Draft. His career included nine seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, followed by stints with the Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2001

Brampton-born Chris Terry, who is entering the second year of his contract with Detroit Red Wings. Terry led the AHL in scoring in 2017-2018 with 71 points. He currently plays for the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL.

Raptors “Superfan” Nav Bhatia will drop the puck and bring his infectious enthusiasm and excitement to the game.

Hockey Night in Brampton will take place on Thursday, August 22 at 7 pm at the CAA Centre, 7575 Kennedy Road S, in Brampton. A growing roster of NHL talent and local celebrities will take part in this charity fundraiser, proudly supporting the Cardiology Program at Brampton Civic Hospital through the William Osler Health System Foundation.
